The Shorncliffe Pier and Beach Front is a beautiful spot 30min north of the Brisbane CBD which encompasses a long stretch of sandy beach, a paved esplanade, shorefront views, and a beautiful jetty. As it is such a beautiful location within easy access to Brisbane it is very busy with many walkers, bike riders and dogs. Even though this location is dog friendly, all dogs must be kept on a leash. However, this is not an issue as post process editing is a magical trick that can make those leashes disappear in seconds.
I was fortunate enough to get to visit this location with the beautiful Wolfgang (4mo. Australian Shepherd)

The above and below images of Wolfgang were taken in the same shot series however, because of the editing style I chose for both images it would not necessarily appear to be the case. The above image has been completely cleaned up in post editing with all people, light poles and distractions being removed. I did this to ensure all leading lines directed the audiences attention to Wolf, the star of the show.
Hint - shoot down at your dogs level and share their perspective. It helps capture a more engaging image that relates to your dog.
However, I purposely did not go to the same extent in post processing the below image and as a result have left people and minimal distractions still present. This was done to create an atmosphere in the image that shows Wolf purposefully running through a crowd of people towards his audience.

When Golden Hour comes around, the colours along the waters edge become a beautiful orange which makes for a nice contrast against the blue water horizon.

If you keep your eyes open as you walk your dog down the Esplanade you will find magical spots to hang out and capture beautiful memories. The image above was a candid of Wolf as he sat down to have a rest and enjoy watching the birds fly over the ocean.
The below image was edited in a 'moody' atmospheric style, hence the grey colour tones, and was captured on a wooden statue found along the esplanade. Wolf sat at the end of a wooden plank which was at a height above the ground.
Hint: If you are trying to replicated a photo such as this, be careful to make sure your dog is comfortable sitting at heights.
